Are you a Certified Medication Technician?  Are you a Nursing Student who has successfully completed your Pharmacology course?  NEWCare Convalescent Center is recruiting for a Medication Technician.  

The Medication Technician is specially trained to set up medications, administer them to the proper patient/resident and document administration in the medical record.  This individual functions under the supervision of professional nurse within parameters of State approved credentialing in a skilled nursing facility.  This position offers the opportunity to be close to the residents and can be gratifying for a caregiver interested in creating compassionate and warm relationships with the elderly.

Essential Duties include:

  • Set up and administration of medications to the residents using established procedures.
  • Perform minor treatments within scope of credentialing.
  • Maintains adequate drug supply for residents.
  • Knowledgeable concerning nutrition, delivers nourishments, assists residents to 
    consume, charts amounts of nourishments and does weights as delegated.
  • Follows facility documentation policies.
  • Participates in infection control practices.
  • Makes resident rounds.
  • Reports nursing problems to charge nurse.

This is a full-time position on the evening shift, 2 PM to 10 PM, which includes health, dental and life insurance options.  Both full-time and part-time positions include Paid Time Off (PTO) and 401k.  Although this position is full-time, part-time inquiries are welcome.

NEWCare Convalescent Center is in the process of hiring a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) for the evening (PM) shift. CNAs provide residents and patients with personal care and compassionate assistance, and through charting/documentation of the resident’s daily needs and services are the main contributor to the development of the resident’s care plan of treatment.

  • Shift can be 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, or 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
  • $1.50/hour shift differential applies from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
  • $12.00 per hour starting wage may be negotiable based on experience.
  • Full-time and part-time positions are available.

Individuals are required to work every other weekend/every other holiday. Full-time status is gained by working 30 or more hours per week and includes insurance benefits, Paid Time Off (PTO), and 401k. Part-time positions will allow for shift pick-up and include the PTO and 401k benefits.

NEWCare is seeking applicants for a part-time, day shift Cook position.  In a long term care facility the Cook is responsible to prepare and cook large quantities of food for the residents.  Dietary staff are frequently co-mingled with the residents as they perform their duties.  This requires the applicant to be compassionate and respectful of the residents and to help provide a calm atmosphere.  This relationship with the residents can be very gratifying as well.  Other responsibilities include:

  • Portioning and serving food to facility residents, patients and employees.
  • Cleaning and inspecting equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation.
  • Cook foodstuffs according to menus, special dietary or nutritional restrictions, or numbers of portions to be served.
  • Train new employees.
  • Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and other cooking equipment when necessary to assist Dietary Aide.

This is a part-time position which includes Paid Time Off (PTO) and 401k benefits.  Full-time, 30 hours or more, may be possible by working in another department.  Full-time benefits include PTO, 401k and health, dental and life insurance.

The position is a great introduction to long term care and may serve as a springboard for those interested in pursuing a care giving position.

If you like to make a difference by helping those that need daily assistance and medical care, NEWCare has an opening available for a Licensed Practical Nurse, or a Registered Nurse to fill a evening (PM) Charge Nurse position.  A Charge Nurse will:

*Assess and monitor skilled nursing facility patient health problems.
*Administer nursing care.
*Implement care plans and maintain medical records.
*Maintain a  leadership role assignment with direct care nursing staff.

Shift hours are 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.  Wage is based on experience and will be discussed in the interview.  NEWCare offers a shift differential of $1.50/hour for the hours of 6:00 PM through 6:00 AM.

A full-time opening is available but inquiries for part-time and casual are welcome.  Part-time employees can acquire extra hours by picking up open shifts caused by vacations, appointments, and leaves.  Nursing staff is required to work every other weekend/every other holiday.

Full-time status is achieved at 30 hours and includes health, dental and life insurance benefits.  Both full-time and part-time positions allow participation in 401K and accrue paid time off (PTO).  PTO combines the time away from work traditionally given as vacation, personal, and holiday pay into a single integrated plan.
